Pallet Flow Rack in Chicago, IL
A lot of the calls we get from Chicago start the same way: freight stacked in the aisles of an older brick building because the floor was never laid out for modern pallet loads. Underneath that is usually high-turn SKUs that need a constant pick face, and it gets worse every month the layout stays the same.
Pallet flow rack loads from one aisle and picks from another on gravity rollers, so the oldest pallet is always the next one out and nobody hand-rotates stock. We size the pallet flow rack to your loads, your forklifts, and the clear height you already lease, then send a CAD layout with pallet positions counted and an itemized quote. Call (312) 815-2445 and tell us what you store in Chicago.
Why Chicago Warehouses Work With Us
We have worked Chicago buildings from the Kinzie Industrial Corridor to Pilsen and the Lower West Side for years, and they are rarely alike. Around here, older multi-story brick buildings with tight column grids and freight elevators sit a few miles from newer single-story boxes with 32-foot clear heights. A pallet flow rack layout copied from another building almost always wastes pallet positions.
Our team has quoted and installed racking for food & beverage distribution and third-party logistics work in Chicago for decades. With pallet flow rack, the deciding factor is normally lane pitch calculated for the pallet weights you actually run, and we put the numbers for that in front of you up front.
Our Westmont warehouse is about 35 minutes from Chicago by way of I-55, I-90/94, and I-290, so deliveries are short, parts are close, and our own crews do the installation. One contact handles the layout, quote, schedule, and service afterward.

How Pallet Flow Rack Works
Load one side, pick the other, and let gravity enforce first in, first out.
Load end
Pallets enter at the high end of the lane. Each new pallet stages behind the one before it, so put-away is a single move made from the load-side aisle.
Gravity conveyor
Full-width rollers or skate-wheel tracks, set on a pitch calculated for the pallet weight, carry loads forward under control rather than free rolling.
Braking and separation
Brake rollers and pallet separators regulate travel and stop pallets from bunching, protecting both the product and the structure underneath it.
Pick end
Pickers work a face of first-in pallets. Pull one and the next indexes forward automatically, so the pick aisle stays organized without anyone re-facing stock.
What a Pallet Flow Rack Project Includes
A Chicago pallet flow rack project starts with a phone call or a few photos, not a sales pitch. We go through load size and weight, forklift type and lift height, usable clear height in the storage area, column spacing, and how fast product turns. That free warehouse needs analysis usually takes about fifteen minutes.
You get a pallet flow rack drawing for your building with every position counted, every level rated, and an itemized price by frame, beam, and accessory. Because this system turns on gravity lanes loaded on one side and picked on the other, we usually include an alternative layout on the same plan so you can compare storage against access.
Common pallet flow rack parts move from our Westmont stock within days. Our crews install to the approved drawing, anchor every frame, and work around your shifts so third-party logistics production does not stop. Your layout stays on file, so adding a bay next year or replacing a damaged upright starts from where the system already is.
